Although it is known for being a drab and dreary place, with its labyrinth of tunnels and communist overtones, it is finally getting a facelift. We thought it would be interesting to show it as it was, before the update.

There is now a move to preserve old, communist neon signs. What started off as an art project, has gained a lot more popularity since. We appreciate the artistic value in these signs and see them as a product of their time. Unfortunately, many have been removed from the shops, bars and restaurants where they once were.
